The Filipino boy group made another history with ‘Bazinga’ by maintaining their hold over the top spot on Billboard’s ‘Hot Trending Songs’ chart for the seventh week.
With this, the SB19 song broke the record of BTS’ ‘Butter’ for the longest streak at No. 1 in the short history of the chart but that’s not all, ‘Bazinga’ is still the only song by a Filipino act to enter and top the said chart.
The group took to social media to celebrate and thank their fans they call A’TIN.
According to Billboard, Hot Trending Songs chart keeps track of music-related trends and conversations globally on Twitter.
Composed of Pablo, Stell, Josh, Ken, and Justin, SB19 gained popularity after their dance practice video for their second single ‘Go Up’ went viral on social media in September 2019.
Since then, the group has gained massive following which eventually led them to becoming the first Filipino and Southeast Asian act to be nominated in Billboard Music Awards in 2021 for the Top Social Artist category, alongside pop artists Ariana Grande and South Korean groups BTS, BLACKPINK, and Seventeen.
