Prepare to witness an unprecedented union of talent as hip-hop prodigy Alex Bruce and P-pop sensation Alexa from KAIA come together for an extraordinary collaboration. The highly awaited live performance, titled “PAP SPECIAL: ‘DOUBLE A’ Live Performance Medley,” was unveiled on Monday, November 13, exclusively on PROD AXIA’s YouTube Channel.

This exceptional project stems from a mutual aspiration between Alex Bruce and Alexa, two artists bound by a profound admiration for each other’s artistic prowess. Speaking about the collaboration, Alex Bruce reveals, “This project has been on our radar for a while, but we didn’t make a big fuss about it.” KAIA Alexa adds, “We’ve been hearing some fans who are also interested in seeing us perform together, and we like the idea of making rap lyrics together and singing each other’s songs.”

For Alex Bruce, this collaboration is an empowering experience, stating, “Being a female hip-hop rapper, working with other talented women in the industry could make you feel empowered and proud to be a part of the growing representation of women in hip-hop.”

The song selection for the performance was a careful curation of tracks that highlight the strengths of both artists. Alex Bruce explains, “We wanted to highlight our strengths. We couldn’t do a collab without singing one of our songs, right? So, we picked Doja Cat’s ‘Paint the Town Red’ because it’s a catchy, TikTok favorite that everyone can vibe with.” Alexa adds, “We decided to cover each other’s songs, ‘Fake Friends’ by me and ‘Blah Blah’ from KAIA. It’s all about putting our unique spin on these tracks.”

The preparation for the project seamlessly blended professionalism and camaraderie. Alex Bruce notes, “Honestly, it wasn’t too hard to prepare. We’re experienced artists, and we knew what we wanted. We did a few rehearsals to make sure everything was tight, choreography and lyrics-wise.” Alexa agrees, stating, “Rehearsals were key. We had a few studio sessions where we fine-tuned lyrics and practiced our execution. It was a lot of hard work but so worth it.”

The collaboration brought forth an experience that was not only fruitful but also immensely enjoyable. Alex Bruce describes their time together as “REALLY CUTE N FUN N REFRESHING.” It was evident that the project transcended work; it was an opportunity for two artists to come together and revel in their shared love for music. Alexa adds, “Working with Alex was a riot. Our rehearsals were filled with laughter. We’d often pause just to share a laugh, and it felt like we were on the same wavelength with our jokes.”

The live performance shoot, held at PROD AXIA’s location partners The Beer Factory and Estate Coffeehouse in Makati, was marked by professionalism and enthusiasm. Led by producers Reine Tan and Jvee Alcayaga, who also directed the shoot, the team was dedicated to delivering an exceptional live performance. Alex Bruce had pre-existing friendships within the team, and the shoot was characterized by their commitment to professionalism and the clear boundary they maintained between work and personal relationships. Alexa commends the team’s support, saying, “They cheered for us during every shot, and it gave us the boost of energy we needed. Direk Jvee was hands-on and a perfectionist, and the team was determined to make it an amazing shoot.”

Prior to the release of the performance video, Alex Bruce and Alexa had expressed their hopes and aspirations for their audience. Their collaboration is not just a musical experience; it’s an opportunity to inspire and empower. Alex Bruce emphasizes, “We want our fans to feel the unity and camaraderie between women in the music industry, amplifying the message of self-confidence and support among artists.” ALEXA echoes this sentiment, adding, “Our ultimate goal is for our audience to be entertained, but most importantly, to leave a positive and lasting impression. We invite everyone to enjoy this unique collaboration and to be a part of an unforgettable musical journey.”
