YARA is a Filipino girl group under the label Sony Music Philippines. The members were a part of ShowBT Entertainment’s trainee team called NARRA until 2018. They joined Pinoy K-pop Star 2019 and after performing ITZY’s “Dalla Dalla,” YARA won as the second runner-up in the performance category.
On June 2021, the group joined the reality show POPinoy and they performed “Sumayaw Ka” by Gloc-9 which they were immediately given four Pop from the Headhunters and moved to the next round. The group won POPinoy’s grand prize on November 7, 2021, becoming the show’s first Female Group Grand Winner. They released the music video for their pre-debut single, “Para,” on November 7, 2022 . On February 8, 2023, they officially released their debut single entitled “ADDA,” after releasing concept trailers for days and weeks. Later on, they announced that they had signed with Sony Music Philippines, an established record label. Yara joined PPOPCON2023 for the first time alongside with many P-Pop Groups for both convention and concert.
