2022 PPOPCON: Here’s everything we know about the first Pinoy Pop Convention happening this April

After over two years of watching shows and events through our screens because of the ongoing pandemic, stadiums and event venues are finally slowly opening their doors for big events and concerts since the vaccination rate in the country progresses. With the rise of idol groups in the Philippines during this challenging time, P-pop stans are eager to personally watch and interact with their idols, hence, Pinoy Pop Convention (PPOPCON) has been pioneered.

Whether it’s your first time or you’re someone longing to attend a live concert in person, we’ve compiled everything we know about the upcoming PPOPCON happening next month.

What is PPOPCON?

Pinoy Pop Convention (PPOPCON) is a two-day event that aims to celebrate Filipino pop culture and music. The event, set to run from April 9 to 10, will feature established and promising P-pop acts in a concert, engaging activities for fans, and booth exhibition by different fan groups of different artists.

PPOPCON is expected to be attended by idol groups such as SB19, MNL48, BGYO, BINI, Alamat, 1st.One, Press Hit Play and 4th Impact. Up and coming acts like VXON, KAIA, DAYDREAM, VER5US, G22, and more will be gracing the PPOPCON stage as well.

The Main Concert: Lineup, ticket details, venue

PPOPCON’s four-hour main concert will feature performances from SB19, MNL48, BGYO, BINI, 4th Impact, Alamat, 1st.One, and Press Hit Play, with VXON and KAIA as opening acts. It will be held with a live audience at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on April 10, 2022, from 3PM to 7PM.

• General Admission: Php 1,000 (Free seating)
• Upper Box: Php 2,000 (Reserved seating)
• Lower Box: Php 3,000 (Reserved seating)
• Patron B: Php 4,000 (Reserved seating + Fan Light)
• Patron A: Php 4,500 (Reserved seating + Fan Light + Limited Live Soundcheck Access)
• VIP: Php 5,500 (Reserved seating + Fan Light + Live Soundcheck Access)

Fans who wouldn’t be able to attend the concert can stream it live for Php 900 for the regular tickets and Php 1,500 with additional access to the soundcheck.

The Convention: Lineup, ticket details, venue

The convention runs from April 9, 2022, 10AM PHT until April 10, 2022, 8PM PHT at the New Frontier Theater. Special performances, merchandise selling, fan booths, activities, games, and more surprises are expected during the whole event.

As of writing, DAYDREAM, VER5US, G22, VXON, KAIA, R RULES, DIONE, CALISTA, and PPOP Generation are confirmed to perform for the two-day convention at the New Frontier Theater.

Admission to the two-day convention starts at Php 650 and can be purchased via https://ticketnet.com.ph/ and TicketNet outlets nationwide.

Health and safety protocols

With the ongoing pandemic, the organizers of the PPOPCON have set health protocols to secure the safety of the artists and fans who will physically attend the event. Fully vaccinated guests who are 18 years old and above are allowed to physically attend the event while guests 17 years old and below must be fully vaccinated and accompanied by a fully vaccinated parent/guardian to be allowed of entry.

All attendees are required to wear face masks at all times, except when actively eating. For the safety of everyone, guests unable to wear proper face mask will not be admitted into the venue.

For health verification, adults (18 years old and above) and children (5 years and older) are required to present a proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (two weeks since final dose); either a physical vaccination card or a photo of vaccination card stored in an electronic device. Adults will also need to present a valid government issued ID. Guests are also encouraged to scan the KyusiPass or StaySafe QR Code before entering the venue. Bags, backpacks and purses are not permitted inside the venue.

Everyone will undergo temperature check at all entrances. Anyone displaying a temperature of 37.6 degrees will be denied entry.
